James Lagger

Pastor

Jesus is the "Head" of Moss Bluff Baptist Church.  However, James was appointed Moss Bluff Baptist Church's Pastor in September 2023. James has recently completed a 23-year military career spanning the United States Navy and Air Force.

James is committed to building Moss Bluff Baptist Church through total reliance on the power of God, strong expository Biblical preaching, building an authentic Christian community, and a commitment to fulfilling the Great Commission in Marion County and worldwide. James and his family also serve in various missionary capacities in Uganda, serving the people of Masaka and the surrounding villages. 

James is a Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary graduate with a Master's degree in Theology, Florida State University with a Master's degree in Social Work, University of South Florida with a Master's Degree in Public Health, and a Bachelor of Social Work from Saint Leo University.  


James has been happily married for 27 years to his wife, Ginny. They have three adult children and one grandson. With a passion for small churches, James is a bi-vocational minister, which means he works a full-time job and gives the rest of his time and energy to serve our church family.
