About Moss Bluff Baptist Church

Moss Bluff Baptist Church is located in Ocklawaha, FL. When we say we are in the woods, it is because we are. We are a rural community in one of the most beautiful parts of central Florida you will find. We work hard, love our country, and love Jesus. We currently have between 30 - 50 active members in attendance each Sunday. 

This Church has been part of the Marion County community for over 100 years. It is currently engaged in the beginning stages of a church revitalization project designed to better reach our community with "The Good News" and show them the way to eternal life and peace.

Our vision is to love people to the point of life - Jesus Christ. 

As we revitalize at Moss Bluff, we will build God's Church trusting in the following Scriptural patterns:

1. Preaching God's Word. The Bible is living and active; it should be our only source of truth and wisdom. 
2. Authentic Community. As described in the book of Acts, the Church lived in a close community, breaking bread together, knowing each other's needs, and sharing real life!  If anyone is simply a number - we have failed.
3. Jesus. He is front and center; He is the hero of every story. It is ultimately not about "me" or "you." It is all about Jesus and the spreading of the Kingdom of God.
4. Living lives of service. We commit to live our lives with an "eternal" focus. At the end of our time on this earth, it will not be about how much money we have in the bank or how many possessions we accumulated; it will be about our relationship with Christ and how we used our lives to impact others as God's faithful ambassadors to a lost and dying world.
5. Transparency. We are all sinners needing a Savior; it is okay not to be okay.  Life is hard, we daily battle sin and the force of darkness and yet God is with us in the midst of all of it.  
6. God's Power - Not Ours. We are not up to the task. We are not strong or wise enough to do any of this on our own. We throw ourselves wholly onto God for everything we do at Moss Bluff; we will trust in the power of prayer and put our faith in the King of the universe. He is more than enough.
